DCR is looking for talented people to fill positions listed below. Unless stated otherwise, you must complete and submit an electronic state application by the job announcement's close date.
Generally applications must be made through the RMS (electronic state application). We will, however, accept paper applications for some state park slots. Be sure to refer to the individual recruitment for specific requirements.
Certain positions require a criminal background check, a conflict of interest financial statement or both. Law-enforcement positions require a fingerprint-based FBI investigation. DCR is an EEO/AA/ADA Employer.

High Bridge Trail State Park is accepting applications for the Maintenance Ranger Supervisor position.
In this position, you will have the opportunity to utilize your skills while connecting with your love for nature and the outdoors. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of equipment repair and other mechanical skills, including an aptitude for small engine maintenance and repair. They should also have the ability to work toward goals that ensure the park and its facilities are well cared for and adequate to support daily operations. Candidates should be able to follow directions, take initiative, and responsibly operate and maintain tools and equipment.

Special Instructions
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license. The incumbent may also be required to perform other park-related duties during emergencies, such as storm cleanup, or on a non-recurring basis, such as special events. Required certifications include a Registered Technician Applicator’s License for herbicide through VDACS and a Limbing and Bucking Sawyer Certification through Virginia State Parks, or the ability to obtain both upon hire.
