Experience the ground connected to the fighting around the Harper Farm, where cavalry forces clashed in a fast moving and intense engagement. This guided hike takes visitors onto the landscape where mounted soldiers pushed forward under pressure, navigated difficult terrain, and fought at close range. The program brings together battlefield geography, historical context, and the voices of the men who fought here, offering a powerful way to understand the events that unfolded on April 6, 1865.

This program will also introduce visitors to new research and recent discoveries connected to the fighting around the Harper Farm, offering fresh insight into how the battle unfolded.

This is an easy guided hike, suitable for most visitors, and covers about 0.6 miles. Please meet at the Visitor Center at 12:00 p.m.
