Through the Office of Public Safety and Law Enforcement, DCR’s Law Enforcement Rangers have full law enforcement authority and are true practitioners of Community Policing. Each undertakes multiple roles and responsibilities within their assigned park and heritage area in addition to public safety and law enforcement responsibilities. Before pursuing this career path, candidates should consider both the attraction of working outdoors, with the public and as part of a team of employees who make the Virginia State Park and Natural Heritage Area experience the best in the country!
