To inform the development of the Virginia Flood Protection Master Plan (VFPMP), DCR hosted a public webinar on April 29, 2025. During this webinar, the plan was discussed and feedback was solicited from the public. The slide presentation and a recorded video of the meeting are available for viewing. DCR will host a second public webinar following the release of the plan.

Upon release of the final VFPMP, it will be posted to Virginia Town Hall for a 60-day public comment period.
Public Survey:
DCR hosted an online public survey from April to October 2025 to solicit feedback from all residents of the Commonwealth, during which time DCR received responses from over 250 people. A summary report is in development and will be posted on this page in the near future. The responses received will be considered in the development of the VFPMP.
Public Events:
From April to October 2025, DCR representatives participated in in five public events, offering information about the VFPMP, answering questions, and providing an opportunity for individuals to fill out in-person surveys.
